File view

Standard viewers

Through MDOC it is possible to view a series of different file types. MDOC uses viewer plugins, making it possible to add plugins for special files. By default MDOC contains the following viewer plugins:

1.RastereX is a viewer plugin, which enables view of 250 different file types.  It offers zooming, panning, browsing etc. Also printing and redlinings are offered.
2.HTML view is a view similai to Internet Explorer enabling view of HTML files.
3.The Outloook viewer is a special viewer for showing Outlook e-mail files, also showing which files are attached etc.
4.Thumbnail view gives a thumbnail of the file similar to the browser.

It’s the administrator that configures the view settings for different file types. You can adjust the configuration under settings.

Preview

The preview panel is normally placed in the MDOC main window and is used for viewing files while browsing.

Preview configured to show thumbnails

Since preview of major files can be a long process, viewing can be set to thumbnail view. You can press the “click to view” button to view a more detailed view.

For more information on the RastereX and Outlook viewers, see the specific sections.

Large view

File viewing can be opened in a separate dialogue to enhance overview and workflow. The dialogue can also be configured to use another viewer than the view panel, giving a more detailed view in this dialogue. The dialogue is opened by the command “Show Full preview”.
